The real timeline
1902J.R. and Lillie Compton leave farming after Idaho's drought, found Independent Coal and Transfer Co. with horse-drawn wagons.
1924Second generation: sons Michael and Thomas establish the Compton Transfer & Storage name as motorized trucks take over.
1975Third generation buys the current Boise Industrial Complex warehouse, still in use today.
1997Fourth generation expands into wood pallet repair and household goods, navigates the company through economic downturns.
2022Chad Compton and Mary Ann Helton take the reins as the fifth generation — modernizing the fleet and inventory systems.

Before & after

Real screenshots, original site vs. this redesign concept

Homepage

Original: a generic small-business template look with an unclear icon grid up top, no quantified trust signals (years in business, generations, states served) stated up front — exactly what B2B logistics buyers look for in the first five seconds. Redesign: the real 120-year, 5-generation story and service scope stated immediately, with a real credibility stat bar and role-based service grouping instead of a flat feature grid.

Company history

Original: a genuinely great five-generation story (1902 to today) buried in dense unbroken paragraphs on a page nav links can 404 on. Redesign: the real timeline pulled into a scannable structure — still all real facts and dates, but readable in seconds instead of requiring a full read-through.
